Sacred Stitches for the Home
At Sew Orthodox, we believe every stitch can be a prayer. Inspired by the tradition of the icon corner - that quiet, flickering heart of the Orthodox home - our embroidery designs blend beauty with devotion, drawing on liturgical colours, ancient symbols, and prayerful stillness. Whether you’re new to needlework or seasoned with thread, these patterns are meant to sanctify your hands and your home. Because Sew Orthodox embroidery is more than simply a handicraft - it’s theology in thread.

As Saint John Chrysostom said, “A house is a little church.” At Sew Orthodox, we invite you to stitch threads of faith into your home. Fill your domestic church with beauty, prayer, and handmade blessings - for those you love, and for the glory of God.
About Fanouria
My baptismal name is in honour of the marvellous St. Phanourios - whose intercession I’m always in need of! I’m a convert to the Orthodox Christian faith, a lifelong stitcher, and an occasional Prosphoro baker.
Though I’ve lived in major cities in the past, my heart is most at peace surrounded by the beauty of nature and wide open spaces — which is why I’ve now settled in a small country town in South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.
In my spare time, you’ll usually find me curled up with a good book or some stitching - and a cat on my lap. When I’m not tucked into a comfy spot or spending time with my family, I’m often at the piano, out in the garden, watching the chooks scratch for bugs, or walking quietly through the bush soaking up God’s creation. It’s wonderful how many beautiful things an introvert can find to do!
